Deanna Blegg

Deanna, at age 24, was diagnosed with HIV. In 1996 she was given six months to live after being affected by AIDS. Afraid of the stigma associated with HIV she battled the virus silently. Fortunately, due to the combination of HIV medication and her healthy outlook on life, Deanna’s health improved as did her vision for the future.

Deanna has two children, Tia-Rae 11 and Xanda six. Both children are HIV negative.

Deanna works in the fitness industry and is achieving inspiring results in elite level adventure racing. Deanna has also yielded impressive results not only in the adventure racing arena but through her entire sporting career spanning almost 30 years.
